Since becoming a specialist, he has actively taken part in meetings and training in the field of andrology and has assisted in operations with some of the top professors in the field. Beginning in 2017, he began performing procedures associated with "penis aesthetics" a field that particularly interests him. He performs surgeries and conducts research in the areas of penile enlargement, erectile dysfunction treatments, the implantation of penile prostheses, and the surgical management of "Peyronie's disease" one of the most prevalent conditions that result in the penile curvature.

The European Urology Association's written and oral competency exams were passed by him in 2017, granting him the designation "FEBU"

He was given the title of Associate Professor of Urology in 2020. In 2022, Dr. Sertkaya opened the Andro Expertise Male's Health and Aesthetics Center, continuing his pursuit of urology and andrology, which he began in 2008. He conducts operations in affiliated hospitals while seeing patients at his own clinic. He has four kids and is married. Both Beşiktaş JK and Anadolu Efes Basketball are teams he supports.
