What it is
Two problems, one operation
Many men with Peyronie's disease also have erectile dysfunction. When erections are no longer firm enough and there is a bend as well, an inflatable penile implant can treat both: the cylinders restore rigidity, and the surgeon straightens the penis during the same operation.
Depending on the curve, straightening may involve moulding the penis over the inflated implant, adding plication stitches, or, less often, incising the plaque and placing a graft. The surgeon decides on the approach during your assessment and in theatre.
