Costs & packages
In the United States, a penile implant without insurance is typically quoted between $10,000 and $35,000, and many men pay more once hospital, anesthesia and device fees are added. In Istanbul, our all-inclusive packages start from $6,500 and already include the surgeon, the hospital stay, your hotel and transfers. This page explains where the difference comes from and what you actually pay.

At a glance
| Comparison | United States (self-pay) | Men's Health Istanbul |
|---|---|---|
| Typical total | $10,000 – $35,000 | from $6,500 |
| What the price covers | Usually surgeon + facility; device, anesthesia and follow-up often billed separately | Surgeon, implant, hospital stay, hotel, transfers, tests, medication |
| Device | Billed separately or bundled by some centers ($16,000–$19,000 bundles) | Included (Coloplast, Boston Scientific/AMS or Rigicon, per your plan) |
| Hotel & transfers | Not included | 6 nights' hotel + city transfers included |
| Final price | Varies by hospital and insurer | Confirmed in writing before you travel |
US figures are self-pay ranges reported by US health publishers and manufacturers; they vary by state, hospital and device. Istanbul prices are starting prices; your written quote depends on the implant and the surgeon you choose.
United States
Without insurance, penile implant surgery in the US is generally quoted at $10,000 – $35,000. In complex cases or at some hospitals the total can go much higher.
The hospital portion alone is often $8,600 – $11,300 (median hospitalization charges), before the surgeon's fee, anesthesia and the device.
Some US surgical centers offer bundled self-pay packages around $16,000 – $19,000 that combine the implant, facility and surgery fees.
Even with insurance, deductibles, co-insurance and out-of-network surgeons mean many men still pay several thousand dollars out of pocket, and prior authorization can take months.

The difference
Surgery abroad carries risks. Penile implant surgery can lead to complications such as infection, bleeding, mechanical failure or erosion, wherever it takes place. Being far from your surgeon adds practical challenges, so plan how you would get help at home. See aftercare and follow-up.
Example
| Item | Cost for a US patient |
|---|---|
| Inflatable implant package | from $8,500 |
| Round-trip flight US → Istanbul | $700 – $1,400 (economy) |
| Hotel (6 nights) | Included |
| Transfers airport–hotel–hospital | Included |
| Meals & extras | ~$200 – $400 |
| Estimated total | ~$9,400 – $10,300 |
Compare with a US self-pay total of $10,000 – $35,000 before travel, time off and follow-up visits.
Your surgeon
Prof. Dr. Ateş Kadıoğlu is a urologist and andrologist. His academic career has been spent at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, part of Istanbul University, where he heads the Division of Andrology. His clinical work centers on penile implant surgery, Peyronie's disease and revision operations. He carries out the consultation and performs the operation himself.
A second penile implant surgeon is also available. The package price can differ depending on the surgeon you choose, and this is shown in your written quote.
