Biography
A clinician, teacher and researcher
Prof. Dr. Ateş Kadıoğlu is a urologist and andrologist. His academic career has been spent at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, part of Istanbul University, where he heads the Division of Andrology. He served as vice-dean of the faculty between 2011 and 2014.
His clinical and research work covers sexual medicine, male infertility and diseases of the prostate. Alongside surgery, he teaches urologists in training and reviews research for international journals, including European Urology, The Journal of Sexual Medicine, Andrology, Asian Journal of Andrology and Andrologia.
Early in his career he took part in educational programmes on sexual medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (1991) and on male infertility at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas (1994).
He is a member of several professional societies, including the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM), the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the American Urological Association (AUA). He is married with two children.

Careful planning and the non-touch technique
Every implant operation follows the non-touch technique: the device is kept away from the skin and from the surgeon's gloves at every stage, with glove and instrument changes, a sterile window drape and a closed irrigation system. It is combined with intravenous antibiotics and an antibiotic-coated implant.
Prof. Kadıoğlu works with established devices such as the Coloplast Titan and the Boston Scientific AMS 700. The choice of implant is made with you after your examination, based on your anatomy, your hands' dexterity and your priorities.
He carries out the consultation and performs the operation himself.
